Ink and Sweat

In the dimly lit sauna, the air was thick with moisture and the scent of burning cedar. The only other occupant was a woman, her toned body glistening with sweat. She caught my eye and smiled, revealing a small dragonfly tattoo on her shoulder.

I felt a sudden jolt of attraction. I approached her, my heart pounding in my chest. “Mind if I join you?” I asked, nodding towards the empty space on the wooden bench beside her.

She shook her head, her dark hair sticking to her forehead. “Not at all.”

We sat in silence for a moment, the heat of the sauna causing beads of sweat to form on my skin. I couldn’t take my eyes off of her tattoo, the way the ink swirled and danced on her skin.
